A roof inspection tells you what condition your roof is really in, so you can plan instead of react. Family Tree Roofing offers free inspections for homeowners across the Tulsa area, whether you have a specific problem or simply want to know where your roof stands.

When an inspection makes sense

  • After hail or a strong windstorm, even if you do not see damage.
  • When you notice a leak or ceiling stain, to find the actual source.
  • Before buying or selling a home, so roof condition is known up front.
  • When your roof is getting older and you want to know how much life it has left.
  • Before a major home project such as solar, an addition or new gutters.

What we check

  • Roof covering: missing, damaged or worn shingles, granule loss, and signs of hail or wind damage.
  • Flashing: chimneys, walls, skylights and valleys, where most leaks start.
  • Penetrations: pipe boots, vents and other openings.
  • Edges, ridges and gutters: drip edge, ridge caps, and how water leaves the roof.
  • Ventilation: intake and exhaust, which affect attic heat, moisture and how the shingles age. If you need a roofing estimate, we calculate the ventilation your attic needs as part of it.
  • Attic: signs of leaks, moisture or daylight, where the attic is accessible.

What you get afterward

We walk you through what we found and show you the photos. If everything looks good, we say so. If there is a problem, we explain whether a repair will handle it or whether replacement is the better value, and we give you a written estimate covering the work that is actually needed. There is no obligation and no pressure.

After a storm, those photos and that estimate come to you as a documentation package you can hand to your insurance company yourself if you decide to file a claim. We do not file claims for homeowners and we do not tell you what your policy covers. What we can do is make sure the condition of your roof is properly recorded before an adjuster looks at it.

Free, with no obligation. Our roof inspections are free for homeowners in the areas we serve.

Roof inspection questions

How long does an inspection take?

Most residential inspections take about an hour, depending on the size and pitch of the roof and whether there is attic access.

Do I need to be home?

It helps, especially if we need to check the attic or a leak inside. If you cannot be there, let us know and we will talk through options when we schedule.

Can I schedule an inspection on a Sunday?

Family Tree Roofing offers Sunday roof inspections, repairs, and scheduling. When needed, we may also arrange emergency roof tarping or roof replacements on Sundays, depending on crew availability and the situation. Call 918-703-3735 to discuss your needs.

Who does the inspection?

One of our project consultants. They inspect the roof, take the photos and write the estimate. If you go ahead with the work, Kevin, our project manager, manages it on site.

Is a free inspection really free?

Yes. There is no charge and no obligation to hire us for any work.

Can you inspect a roof for a home I am buying?

Yes, with the seller’s permission for access. An inspection helps you understand the roof’s condition before you close.
